Our client, a successful real investment company, is seeking to hire an experienced Tax Counsel for their expanding operation. Candidate has potential to come in as General Counsel or grow into the role. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of tax controversy/tax litigation experience (with a law firm, accounting firm, IRS, or DOJ Tax) on complex civil disputes with the IRS. The hired attorney will be responsible for developing and coordinating defense strategies, managing outside counsel, and communicating with investors. Candidates should have an extensive knowledge about and experience dealing with, the IRS and Tax Court. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a small and collegial team that is experiencing tremendous growth. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Birmingham or travel to Birmingham weekly and be in the office a few days per week. A competitive compensation package is offered.
