(NEW - IN-HOUSE) TAX CONTROVERSY/LITIGATION COUNSEL WANTED FOR PRIVATELY HELD REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT FIRM (Birmingham, AL)
Our client, a successful real investment company, is seeking to hire a Tax Controversy Counsel for their expanding operation. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of tax controversy/tax litigation experience (with a law firm, accounting firm, IRS, or DOJ Tax) on complex civil disputes with the IRS. The hired attorney will be responsible for developing and coordinating strategies for the defense of both the examination and litigation phases of the controversy. Candidates should have an extensive knowledge about and experience dealing with, the IRS and Tax Court. This role will involve both direct representation of entities subject to IRS enforcement actions and working with outside legal counsel to coordinate the representation of related entities. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a small and collegial team that is experiencing tremendous growth, and with possibility of growing into General Counsel role.
