Our close client, one of the most prominent global firms, is seeking to hire a patent associate or patent agent with 2-4 years of experience to work with their Intellectual Property practice group in the Atlanta office. They are looking to add a team member with a strong background in patent prosecution. The associate or agent will join a sophisticated practice that counsels clients in a variety of industries involving chemistry with intellectual property issues and will have extensive interaction with a variety of clients including universities, start-ups, and other companies, to help protect their innovations. Qualified candidates should have 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution and USPTO registration, as well as a masters or PhD in organic chemistry and an ability to understand technologies related to synthetic chemistry and polymer chemistry. Must have skills and knowledge related to preparing patent applications for submission and responding to office actions from the USPTO and other patent offices. Experience with patent freedom to operate and patent litigation preferred but not required. Candidates should display confidence, professionalism, a team-player mindset, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to assume immediate responsibility for matters in an active practice.
