Our client, recently recognized as one of the fastest-growing law firms in the country, has asked for our assistance in identifying a senior-level Mortgage Originations Regulatory lawyer with at least eight (8) years of on-point experience (non-equity partnership is a possibility if the hired lawyer can bring in the range of $100k-$200k in portable business). The hired lawyer can be housed in either Charlotte, NC, Tysons Corner, VA, Bethesda, MD, or Philadelphia, PA; and remote work is also a possibility depending on proximity to one of these cities. The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge of the consumer lending laws affecting the origination, servicing, and marketing or residential mortgage loans. The practice will center on providing mortgage origination compliance, advice, and policy implementation on behalf of lenders, servicers, brokers, and other related companies; and representing them before state and federal authorities, including the CPFB, DOJ, HUD, FDIC, and FTC, the Federal Reserve, and state AG’s during investigations and enforcement proceedings. Significant experience required in the above matters and in TILA, RESPA Anti-Kickback provisions, FHA mortgagee guidelines, ECOA, FCRA and FACTA Act guidelines, and FinCen Anti-Money Laundering requirements & privacy rules. In-house experience in mortgage lending compliance experience and/or government agency experience is a plus, though substantial law firm experience is highly preferred. JD degree and admission to at least one state bar are required for consideration. Compensation is DOE and highly competitive.
